SPREADING THE CEMENT OF BROTHERLY LOVE AND AFFECTION

Adapted from a paper by Worshipful Robbie Robinson

Past Master of Galilei Lodge 810a, Kaiserslautern, Germany (1974)

Past Master of Vinton Lodge No. 204, Vinton, Virginia

Have you ever attended a Lodge that seemed very cold and impersonal? Have you ever wondered how this could happen in a Masonic Lodge? Do you think this could ever happen in your own Lodge?

Leadership

June 30, 2017 by Timothy Fleischer

The Army has come to the conclusion that it is beneficial for a Commander and his 1SG to attend a course that would aid them in leading troops successfully. I sat here one day, eyes glazed over from the hundredth power point slide, think about how Lodges successfully operate with the guidance of the Wm and yet we never sent him to a school. Of course, there is the training booklet but no week-long class on the ins and outs of Lodge operations and leadership. Of my many thoughts, why this was I seem to return to this single one: the brothers of the Lodge operate on the level, in peace and harmony and most of all have the good of the order foremost in their minds. This is a trait we look for in our candidates but can only grow with the brotherly love and fraternal relationships we mentor amongst each other. Brothers, we have six new members who are standing in the north-east corner steadily building themselves into what will be a MM. I beseech each one of you to take the time to get to know them and mentor them into the best brothers they can be.

Peace & Harmony,

Brian Arnett WM

Thinking about Masonry from the inside out

June 30, 2017 by Timothy Fleischer

Brethren, Our identity as Masons must include work on ourselves both as individuals and as a brotherhood. Our decline in membership over the past 50 years is merely a symptom of the loss of Masonry’s relevance to our lives and our communities.

4th of July and Freemasonry

June 30, 2017 by Timothy Fleischer

The 4th of July is a very important date for Freemasons and is celebrated by members of the craft all over the world.

Freemasons and the fourth of July are interconnected by the events that took place on that date, which would not have been possible or would have taken place very differently if it weren’t for Freemasons. [Read more…] about 4th of July and Freemasonry
